Mr. Salmon has been working in the area of manufacturing for over 15 years. His experience ranges from working as a consultant to NASA to serving as program manager of design and fabrication at the University of California's Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. As program manager at Lawrence Berkeley, his focus was on precision mesoscale manufacturing and instrumentation for electron microscopes. Norman is a respected expert, who has spoken on precision manufacturing to groups around the world. He has consulted for more than 50 organizations including government agencies, medical manufacturing companies, precision machine tool builders, and manufacturers of precision components. As the principal investigator of Hummingbird Scientific, he has been the recipient of more than $3 million in funding from the Department of Energy Office of Basic Energy Sciences, the U.S. Army, and the National Institute of Health. Mr. Salmon is an active member of the American Society for Precision Engineering, Materials Research Society, and the Microscopy Society of America.
